I feel like social life is a performance. Of course, that is true; also, maybe everything we do is a performance, even if only to ourselves.

Still, being social, or acting social, is just so exhausting. It's not so unenjoyable, at least not all the time, but it drains me terribly. Even just through text; often, I just want to leave people on read, ignore them, pretend they don't exist. Everything I type feels like a dance, something that they'll enjoy, but that just tires me out. Dances are supposed to be fun to perform as well, I guess, so not really like a dance; it's like working for them.

I care about these people is the thing! I don't want to let them down or upset them. I want to be kind and friendly; I just can't stand to actually do it.

Maybe it's a matter of habit...

I wore my black suit trousers.

Social battery runs out. Means you’re introverted. Extroverts can’t stand to be alone ; introverts can’t stand to be around people. We have to work at it.
