A 2006 French documentary film directed by Robin Shuffield that profiles the life and revolutionary policies of Thomas Sankara, the former president of Burkina Faso. The film explores his four-year tenure (1983-1987), during which he implemented social and economic reforms, renamed the country "Land of Upright Men," and promoted African self-reliance, before his assassination. It highlights his charismatic leadership, progressive policies on women's rights and economic independence, and his defiant stance against Western neo-liberalism and imperialism.
