LPT: With the ongoing heatwave in Europe and elsewhere, here an LPT for cooling down your house quick, cheap and dirty: put emergency blankets (the gold/silver ones) on the outside of your windows. This reflects 90% of the heat.

This is not a permanent solution, but a quick cheap emergency help. On the plus side, the blankets still let in quite some visible light.
