Brayland Union is founded on Democratic Socialist Libertarian principles. We believe in:

• Maximum individual liberty and personal responsibility
Democratic control over shared resources and major decisions

• Strong social cooperation and mutual support without coercive central authority

• Self-sufficiency and sustainable development

• Peaceful exploration and the free sharing of knowledge with humanity

We reject both unchecked corporate power and authoritarian control. Our model prioritizes freedom, fairness, and practical cooperation.

Governance

Brayland Union operates on democratic principles with strong protections for individual rights. Major decisions affecting the community are made through transparent, participatory processes. Power is distributed to prevent concentration and to ensure accountability.

Our governance is designed to remain flexible and adaptable as the settlement grows, while maintaining clear rules and protections from the beginning.

Rights and Freedoms

We are committed to protecting fundamental freedoms, including:

• Freedom of speech, belief, and association

• Personal autonomy and privacy

• The right to the fruits of one’s labor

• Access to basic needs through cooperative systems

At the same time, we recognize that in a small, isolated environment like an asteroid settlement, individual actions can significantly impact the whole community.

Rights come with responsibilities to the collective well-being.

Economy and Resources

Brayland Union emphasizes self-sufficiency through in-situ resource utilization. We aim to develop systems for water extraction, oxygen production, fuel creation, and material processing from the asteroid itself.

Our economic approach combines personal initiative with democratic oversight of shared infrastructure and critical resources. We favor cooperative models and voluntary exchange while ensuring that essential systems remain under community control.

Long-Term Vision

Our vision is to build a viable, self-sustaining presence on (468) Lina, including:

• A rotating habitat providing artificial gravity

• Closed-loop life support and food production

• Scientific research and technological development

• A small but thriving community living in freedom and cooperation

We are committed to conducting all activities peacefully and sharing scientific and technological progress with Earth for the benefit of humanity.
