I'll never understand the people that just decide they have to do the fascism since they got the orders. Half-assing your job is about the easiest thing in the world. A lot of people do it already even without a higher ideal as justification. Unless your half-assing is still performing a particularly rare and valuable skill, it's probably even better than quitting.
