Last month we fixed a lot of the problems that were reported so far during 1.0 Beta Testing. These fixes are released in a new version Edit: Note the Lemmy backend version 1.0.0-beta.1 is still building, and will take about 12 hours to complete. In the upcoming months, as app devs continue to give feedback on the Lemmy 1.0 API, we'll be tweaking it as necessary. We'll also be working on lemmy-ui and jerboa. You can follow our development progress with these milestone links:
Here are all the changes from June: Full list of changes by repolemmy
lemmy-ui
joinlemmy-site
lemmy-js-client
lemmy-client-rs
Or see the full list of changes at the links below: An open source project the size of Lemmy needs constant work to manage the project, implement new features and fix bugs. Dessalines and Nutomic work full-time on these tasks and more. As there is no advertising or tracking, all of our work is funded through donations. Even so there is barely enough time in the day, and no time for a second job. The only available option are user donations. To keep it viable donations need to reach a minimum of 5000€ per month, resulting in a modest salary of 2500€ per developer. If that goal is reached we can stop worrying about money, and fully focus on improving the software for the benefit of all users and instances. We especially rely on recurring donations to secure the long-term development and make Lemmy the best it can be. |

I tried to login using github to voyager and got a "Login failed." . is it suppose to work? also it's getting about 29 users a month. Because lemmy.ml is the official instance of the developers maybe the sidebar on the main page should ask people to sign up and test it? (at least when it is in a period you expect more testing like the beta). |

We wiped the data on voyager at some point so your existing account is probably gone. You can just make a new account with the same name. |

Tried the Github signup just now and it worked fine. You approved the Lemmy login once it redirected to Github right? Maybe try going into your Github settings and removing Voyager entry, then try again. Also check the browser console for any errors. And try a different browser, or disabling privacy plugins. |

This must be the problem but I dont know what it means. Check the network tab in browser dev tools for that request, and see whats the response or why it failed. |

Okay in the browser dev tools open "Storage" tab and go to "Local Storage". There should be an item oauth_state with a value like {"state":"xxx","oauth_provider_id":1,"redirect_uri":"https://voyager.lemmy.ml/oauth/callback","prev":"/","expires_at":1783389838355}. Sounds like one of those items is missing.
This is what i am getting: {"state":"a4202528-d297-4646-a173-8f89a35abdc8","oauth_provider_id":1,"redirect_uri":"https://voyager.lemmy.ml/oauth/callback","prev":"/","expires_at":1783434115460} |
