Mine is: Cooked quinoa, egg and cheese. Mix it up and bake it in a muffin tin or fry it in a patty like a breakfast sausage. If you throw everything in a food processor you can work it like a dough to make a pizza crust or a flatbread to dip in sauce. |

Lightly fried egg, hot hot rice, little bit of soy sauce. It's such an easy and delicious breakfast. If the rice is hot enough, it'll cook a raw egg just fine when you mix it in, but I don't personally like that texture, so I just do a quick over-easy egg instead. Also 3 incredient peanut butter cookies. I think it's 1 egg, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup peanut butter. It makes really good cookies. |

Cheaty sorbet (or sorbet-ish).
Load into food processor and pulse a bit until it starts to break up (add water if it is being stubborn). Once it gets going just go full blast until it is smooth, creamy and all lumps have gone then eat. I store some in the freezer for later - you do lose that amazing texture a little but its still so tasty and very welcome in this heat. |

I don't know what it's technically called, but I love this:
Brown the sausage, adding garlic and red pepper flakes. Once your water is boiling, toss in the gnocchi. Chop up the broccolini and add it to the sausage. Take a few spoonfuls of the gnocchi water and add it to the sausage pan. Once the gnocchi is floating, add it to the sausage pan and mix thoroughly. After a minute or so, plate it up and top with Parmesan cheese. Enjoy. For a more thorough explanation, see here: https://youtu.be/aVAN4_pWCwY?is=vHvJKljrvKN2411r |

Cheaty sorbet (or sorbet-ish). 400g (ish) of frozen fruit (mango, pineapple, banana, anything really, i use a pre-made smoothie mix). Splash of milk (oat milk works) or something like natural or greek yoghurt. bit of sugar, sugar substitute, syrup etc. for sweetness (adjust for fruit). Can even use a flavoured syrup if you want. Load into food processor and pulse a bit until it starts to break ...
Oh I'm definitely making sorbet this week. I forgot how easy it it to make. |

Cheesy garlic toasties: Mushrooms, primula (squeezy cheese) garlic and bread. Tuna chilli: tin of tuna (in oil), put it in a hot pan, throw in a diced onion, add a tin of tomatoes, add some spices fresh chilli etc and reduce down. Serve with rice pasta etc. so cheap and simple. |

Ok assuming onion garlic and spices don't count.... fry onion and garlic, chuck in chopped tomatoes with paprika and chilli and some water, simmer till reduced. Cook sausages separately. Lob butter beans in the tomatoes for 10 then whack all together. |

Certainly not everyone's cup of tea:
Eggs are such a good source of protein but I get bored of the conventional ways to make them so I started scrambling them with mirin and miso and I like them a lot more. |

This is a surprisingly simple, yet tasty, soup.
Put oil in small soup bowl. Put soy sauce in bowl. Put chives/whatever in bowl. Pour boiling hot water over top. Let sit about a minute. Serve. This doesn't sound like it should work, but it does somehow. Possible garnishment could include a sprinkle of white (not black!) pepper or a sprinkle of sesame seeds, but honestly neither is needed. |

If a condiment counts as an ingredient: Leftover rice, chili paste, fried egg. Leftover rice, kimchi, fried egg. Kimchi butter noodles (fry kimchi in butter, add cooked noodles) Leftover spaghetti fried in chili paste. Shredded cabbage tossed with mayonnaise and Sriracha If bread counts as an ingredient Avocado toast with chopped onions. Avocado toast with fancy cheese Cheese and crackers with olives. A margarita - 2 parts tequila, one part orange liqueur, one part lime, shaken with ice. Plenty of 3 ingredient cocktails! |

My go-to struggle meal:
Remove tomato stem ends with a knife but otherwise leave unsliced. Put rice, tomatoes, and chopped tofu/sausage in a rice cooker with water. The tomatoes then explode in the rice cooker and flavor everything. It's a balanced meal and takes two minutes of prep, and helps keep me from splurging on fast food on a low-energy day. I'll often add things I have on hand, like carrots, frozen broccoli, a bouillon cube, olive oil, feta or mozzarella cheese, fresh-picked basil, but I've done it with just the three ingredients above, and it holds up when salted. |

similar struggle meal of mine: Half cup of rice, half cup of dry green or brown lentils, 1.5ish cups of water, all into the rice cooker. You can also add a frozen garlic. Wait half an hour or whatever and then add taco seasoning/salt/hot sauce/whatever's on hand! It's so good and super good for you. |

I do something similar inspired by a smoothie from the bubble tea place. I brew double strength jasmine green tea ahead of time. Then I add frozen fruit to a container, add tea to the level of the fruit, add a syrup or sugar, and blend. Refreshing on a hot day 🏝️ |

Eggs and Greek yogurt whisked until combined, season appropriately with salt. Scramble, mixing in dijon mustard before they set. Edit: Ratio of about 3 eggs to 2tbsp yogurt. Dijon to taste, I add about a teaspoon. |

It is far more tasty than it has any right being. When I first heard this recipe I thought I was getting punked. But I tried it and ... yeah. It's actually really nice. And it's really easy to extend. A bit of minced pork. Or break in an egg and make it an egg drop soup. Jazz it up with assorted pickles or kimchi or the like. It's a strong base as well as a great standalone. And ... I don't get hangovers so I don't know about that role, but it would certainly hydrate well after a night of drinking, so ... probably as a cure or even a preventative? |

An oldie, but a goodie: jam, bread, and the star of the show, peanut butter. Another fun one is a tuna or egg salad sandwich: tuna or egg mixed with mayonnaise, spread across BOTH slices of bread (it's important to get as much of that good stuff on the bread as possible). Oh and pasta. Pasta + butter + topping of choice. Cheese, tuna; anything, really. |

Definitely pasta alfredo. Cooked pasta, cultured butter and grated parmigiano reggiano. Once you know the technique for it it's so easy and fast for the level of deliciousness it delivers. The recipe is basically cook up pasta in salty water, and when it's cooked drain it, but save the water. Let it rest/cool a bit while you grate the cheese, and put at least a half a stick of good butter (kerrygold for instance) in and let it melt. When it's warm but not hot (like 110 degrees F or so) add the grated cheese and some of the pasta water and stir. The more cheese and butter you add, the more amazing it gets. Don't cheap out on the ingredients. Good butter, real parm, so good! |

I did some digging. There is an actual hangover remedy based on this simple soup. It involves adding one extra ingredient: just a pinch of baking soda (like maybe 0.5g of it). Apparently this turns an already good electrolyte balancer into magic. As I said I have never had a hangover so I can't attest to that, but someone I know who does get hung over knew about this soup and about this specific alteration. He said it doesn't change the flavour noticeably but it settles the stomach like nobody's business. |
