Shoes. Paired with my "sturdy peasant legs" are sturdy peasant feet. I have to go to men's shoes most times to get things that fit.

There are 2 items I always struggle with.

Pants are tough because I’m just tall enough that a lot of average length pants and jeans are just a little too short, especially when I sit. But I’m not tall enough to wear tall length and if I get them, I have to cuff the legs. Also, pockets are an absolute requirement when I go buy pants or any kind of bottoms now.

And so many pants are high waisted because it’s in fashion now, but I can’t wear anything across my stomach like that. I have a scar that cramps when I wear high waisted anything. Trying to find leggings to work out in is a nightmare!

Bras are tough because, while I’m not really skinny, I’m thin enough that I have a smaller band size with a larger cup size. I think stores stock maybe 2-3 of my size and they are all gone quickly. I have to really dig to find anything that fits. Sister sizes do not work for me, but I did find a brand I actually like and I can order from them online. And no demi or bralette or anything for me, I need that full underwire support.

On that tangent, I hate how clothing is labelled "men's" "women's", "children's".

Why not sort them by size instead? Would be far more consistent. And let there be more variety! Men want colourful clothing too, women want some actual pockets, enbies want some good mix!

And, not just size, it could be handy to sort by fabric as well. Imagine a store where you don't need to constantly check for sizes or fabrics, you just go to that section and look for what you like. So much easier.

I feel the same way. Icebreaker bras changed my boob life.

I'm no shill, I was converted when someone else said the same thing to me. They come in a variety of styles and they're made of merino wool, which is naturally anti-bacterial. I could legit wear one for a week (but I don't because gross) without it ever smelling. I use inserts for intense cold, because of the nippleitis.

I've been struggling for a while now, I tried all kinds of online calculators but when trying them on they were all just wrong, gappy in the cups in the wrong areas, weird bulges etc. I had a few that were good enough but clearly not ideal. Then I thought enough is enough and went to get fitted. She had a look and then went to get a bra that was so far out of the size range I thought (not even sister sized) and oh my god does it fit properly, like all of them are now contained, the front sits perfectly flat against my ribs, the band doesn't bridge the gap at the back, the straps fit nicely.

It almost fits too well because 99% of the time I can't even notice it but when it gets really warm and things start to get sweaty it can feel like its suffocating because none of it moves, there's nowhere that it can be shifted around to get any relief beyond pulling the elastic bits away from the body for a minute. But hey ho, at least its soft and comfy and not scratchy (and no underwire!).

They can be $40-$80 depending on where you get them. I'm not sure about Europe. I've had two for about 12 years that are just starting to get too raggedy to wear.

Dunno if it is something that will help you (but might help with others reading) but this was just Marks and Spencer - their body soft, full cup, non-wired one - https://www.marksandspencer.com/non-wired-full-cup-bra/p/clp60545541

For me its always pants, I am tall and skinny so I always end up with either pants that fit at the waste but are too short or they are long enough but require a belt which I don't really like using. I usually just wear skirts, dresses, and shorts instead but winter is always a little awkward trying to figure out what to wear.

Everything, really.

I basically only thrift. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I really want a newsboy cap, right now (I finally found the skirt of my dreams, so I'm content for now in that regard).

It wouldn't help. There are shoe companies that make unisex shoes, and its no help. The colorful "fem" shoes are only made in the small sizes, and large ones are only made in muted "masc" colors. And the portion of their lineup that is unisex are only those designs that are neutral enough to appeal to both men and women. The cute heels are never in the unisex sizes so too small for me.

The problem is mass manufacturing and economies of scale. Unsold inventory is a loss, and mass production is only cost effective at scale. Mass production can only be effective when it serves large groups and ignores those within niches.

Tops. My arms are very long. I've gradually found some nice flannels and turtlenecks from vintage stores, but I have yet to find a good winter sweater with the right length, arm length, and neckline. Which is sad because I love the sweater and jeans look. I'll just make my own someday 🤷‍♀️

Bras. Small boobs + wide chest makes it really hard to find anything that fits well and actually gives me enough support without also crushing my ribs 🥲

I feel this. I've basically resigned myself to shoes in brown and black. Alt fashion really helps in these circumstances.

That being said, have you looked into Adelante? They do custom-made heels up to size 15 and are very colorful.

I think it would help, though, as the lack of "man/woman/kid" labelling would make people buy more different clothes, thus the market for bigger, unique shoes etc also growing.

I don't see why a man wouldn't like to wear colourful shoes like us.

Wow I am jealous of all y'all with waists too small. I have the opposite problem. 5'9", 37-31-41 and anything that fits my legs & ass is too small in the waist, and it was worse when I was skinny because I was 32-29-33 and for some reason shops think that someone my height could be curvy in a small size, which is vanishingly unlikely. As we get skinnier, more elongated and straight up and down.

My problem is that tall ladies are not short ladies on stilts. I need pants with a longer rise, there is more vertical length between crotch and waist. So besides being too small in the waist, often the pants meant to close at the waist are also trying to close around my hip bones.

Tops, my family has a history of being tall and large framed, so I have to get something that properly covers my long arms and neck.

I hear ya! I'm the same way - PLUS I'm tall with long legs. Finding pants is so hard that I kind of just gave up and started wearing leggings as pants all the time, lol. (Which are still often too short...but I have more success overall)

Size 15? What measure is that? Portuguese, US, EU, UK, FR..?

You could try Zalando, they have many sizes and shoes.

Oh god I hate the problems of a single size that can be anything... The same size could be for somebody about 5'1" with a 42J chest or somebody 5'11" with a 34B... Its maddening and so hard to tell who it is designed for.

Yeah one size can't fit all. I get that there is an average height but beyond that, there just isn't an average woman.

Hemming pants is easy. The easiest cheapest alteration. So even though I only need 32" inseam I think tall pants should have much more length through the rise, and 38" inseam. Regular pants should have an average rise and 34" inseam and petite a shorter rise and 32" inseam and those of us less leggy can get them hemmed.

With my second set of kids Gap had tall maternity clothes, that was glorious. And I did need the pants hemmed.

I have the opposite problem, if the shoes are long enough for my admittedly pretty long feet, they are too big in every other dimension.

U.S., but runs about a half size to a size small, according to reviews.
