The Christians that feel prosecuted are those who bang on your door in order to convert you and get reported for being intrusive and breaking some laws. |

It's a known phenomenon: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_persecution_complex Though seems to me that persecution narrative must be pushed top-down by a minority, if 96% of the actual people vote "No". |

not... well. maybe it is. but not directly. The messaging is there to keep people from leaving. they'll be told things like "that person was rude to you becuase you're a Christian!" or "you lost your job because you were a Christian!" or any of a dozen things that have nothing to do with. (sometimes, in point of fact, they push you to do things that will make people angry at you. like knocking on their door at seven AM on a fucking Sunday. this is, for example, the point of the Mormon's mission... or JW's.) along with all this, they'll get you to burn bridges with your support systems; and to annoy everyone around you. The whole goal is to keep you from leaving, even though they're incredibly toxic. |

Literally everything organized religion does is a psy-op to manipulate people 😅 I think it's an interesting discussion to be had, whether it's done by "the wealthy". We have account that Jesus was kinda against the rich. I mean he flipped some tables and everything. And young Christianity also had something going on with the camel and the needle's hole. And we have more paragraphs than just John and Timothy... But boy did they turn that upside down with what we have as of today. Especially in the USA. I think "they" accomplished their goal. Interesting, though, how the establishment (in modern times) often comes with some urge to claim victimhood. And I don't think it's traditionally part of totalitarianism. |

so... Jesus wasn't actually against the rich nearly as much as people make him seem these days. The flipping of the tables wasn't that they were doing business or even taking advantage of people. it was that they were doing business inside the temple. as for all the "go sell your shit and follow me" stuff... well. yeah. Imagine, if you will Jesus with a cheesy sleazey-car-salesman grin and his hand out. Also notice that he really had a thing for hanging out with rich people. none of the disciples were particularly poor. Mathew was a tax collector. James and John were both heirs to a successful fishing business, two of the others were senior employees in that business. he dined with and partied with the rich all the time, too. Joseph himself would have been well off (as a tekton, he wasn't exactly poor. He was the guy that built everyone's homes and such.) (though Mary probably fled from Joseph when he found out she was preggers. details) basically, he acted and sounded like every half-baked cult leader you can imagine. |

The global south is not a geographic term... and for every example of a country where christians are systematically persecuted, we can find examples of christians persecuting other religions. No one is saying it doesn't happen. But we are say it's not nearly as common as christians make it seem. and even then, most cases, christians are being persecuted by other christians. It's pretty wild. |

The demographic of Christianity continues to shift from the Global North (Europe, North America) to the Global South (Africa, Asia, Latin America). Christianity in the Global South is growing both qualitatively and quantitatively at a phenomenal pace in comparison to Global North Christianity. https://lausanne.org/global-analysis/perspectives-from-global-south-christianity Hmm. The most ignorant and rude question I have, which I just dont understand.. Before europe went and colonized and raped the global south, they did not have christianty It blows my mind how many have taken to heart the religion thrust apon them by european colonists who's sole intention was to erase indigeious culture and voice, why do so many praise the european god? here in north america, they "re-schooled" and ran conversion operations to destroy the native culture and assimilate them into the white norms. It was brutal, violent, ugly, and genocide. Now anyone I meet from the global south, (specifically the caribean and south/central America) is deeply christian/catholic? I ..dont understand the acceptence in severed histories from your own people. edit: I feel like if anywhere christiainity should be persecuted is the places if was forced on native populations violently with no choice, IE, south americans countries and the caribean, yet again, everyone Ive met from those places follow the colonizers relgion. |

what was there before the missionaries though? I didnt think of that. Of course, Im more versed (albeit still ignorant to a lot) in what happened to the native peoples of my very north region, but idk. Ive just, The peoples who were genocided here, what culture remains, it seems they really respected life and the earth for what it gave. I often wonder how the world would have looked without colonization and missionaries. I didnt think of them, the missionaries prior, so, thanks for informing me of that. Its still.. another cultures religion, pushing thier religion on someone else. Like their the door knockers of history. I guess I should listen to this again, this creator has done a few episodes in south and central america, and it has had me in tears. Fall of Civilizations Podcast, ep. 12, The Incas |

Christianity reached the South via missionaries (not that kind) wayyy before the Odd Millennia ever started at all, and before colonization or bloodshed Many missionaries that came to the South before colonization were extremely peaceful and some of them were even martyred and "religion" is not "culture" completely seperate things your faith shouldnt depend on where you were born |

Ahh, I see you meant the global south, which india isn't really part of, since it is north of the Equator. Also you are ignoring the persecution of other religions. If Christianity is actually persecuted, then they brought it on themselves. Shouldn't have forced indigenous peoples to abandon their religions, and forced them to become Christians. Y'all should have been better neighbors, not bothering other people with your bullshit constantly. If you acted like any other religion, you wouldn't have the backlash. |

Name one other religion that engages in door to door proselytism. I'll wait. Your own violence begat the violence that you receive. Also, I said "any other religion," stop lying. Typical US Christian. Also, don't quote the Bible at me. I don't follow your fanfiction book, so it doesn't apply to me. |

culture.. religion, yeah sure, youre right, but they do go hand in hand. And I guess your faith shouldnt depend on where one is born, but chrisanity's goal has always been to "spread" thier religion whether the people want it or not. For a long time (and arguably still today), what religion you follow is heavily dependent on where you are born. Which is why I asked what exsisted before the missionaries came to the americas. |

Changing the goalposts, I see. That doesn't stop the very same deacons and priests from sending their followers to violently convert me. We are talking about Christianity as a whole, not just one specific sect. Again, you're a typical US Christian. A liar. |
