The fact that the Nasdaq changed its rules just to get SpaceX over there should tell you all that you need.

It should also tell everyone how to opt out...

You cannot as far as I'm aware. It's supposed to be a stabilization strategy, turned into speculation to the benefit of the companies over the citizens'

That's the point, that's the grift. The rules as they are, many of these funds have no choice but to invest in SpaceX or lose access entirely. Everyone's 401(k), 403(b), IRAs, and pensions are now tied to a company that is hemorrhaging money.

Can't you move your money away from Nasdaq like over to funds that track the S&P ?

The point is that if you are investing funds for a retirement portfolio, you have to follow the rules of the exchanges if you wish to participate. So the option is to pay for SpaceX or sell off potentially billions in stock across a hundred companies so that you can move to something else.
