Hey all, has anyone had any experience with Vela (GPLv3)? I've been testing it out for about a week and honestly it's been pretty good. Haven't had to reach for Google Maps much, and when I have, I find the dev has already pushed a crapload of updates (I'm using Obtanium because it's not on F-Droid yet). Per the readme, they are doing some automated building, so I guess it's self-improving?? The future is now I guess. I find it kind of ironic an open source project is relying so heavily on proprietary big tech to make it, but whatever contributes I guess.

Not sure why no one has done this before, but all the traffic, routes, and business information is scraped from Google, kind of like NewPipe which I LOVE. Unfortunately OSM cannot be relied upon for searching for restaurant hours in unfamiliar places.
