I don't know if it really counts as a compromise but if somebody crosses me then I just make sure they get, not malicious but at least inconvenient, compliance or otherwise I will just keep lots of notes and evidence of what my position was when things inevitably go tits up. Basically, they aren't coming off looking good afterwards.

Love the wife, hate the curtains. Someday I hope to get a shower with glass doors, but textured frosted glass so it doesn't show water spots as much as clear glass. Seems like the best option.
