What type of berries are these? I thought blackberries at first but the ones that we grew at my mom's place never had so much... whatever that white stuff is. |

I have a raspberry bush in my yard. I love this time of year since I can stop and grab a tasty treat while mowing my lawn. They're also 1000x better than store bought. So much more flavor. |

These are black raspberries and are very picky where they can grow. They're a sweeter version of raspberries. They're absolutely fantastic. |

They are called thimbleberry here but last time I posted I learned there are three berries with thimbleberry as their common name and I grow two of them 😅 I believe it is Rubus occidentalis, but I did not plant them. They just showed up off the back deck 2 years ago. |

It's the best! I really like these because each cluster ripens in phases so you can easily see what's coming up.
The raspberries we planted come in big flushes so we lose out to a lot of them. We're slower than the birds 😅 |

Blackberries, at least one variety in the pacific northwest, are invasive. They grow like crazy and their thorns are really nasty. The fact that the actual blackberries they produce are actually quite delicious and juicy only further demonstrates their pure evil! |
