The National Council of Indigenous Midwives (NCIM) continues to press Ottawa for stronger legal protections against forced sterilization and increased investment in Indigenous-led maternal and reproductive health services.
The council’s recently renewed federal lobbying registration outlines its efforts to influence legislation related to forced sterilization, while asking for Ottawa’s support for Indigenous midwifery education and the Indigenous midwifery workforce.
