I (20f) and My Partner (20M) Live with our roommates(24F,30M) and their kid (2F) now dont get me wrong I love their daughter she is very cute and outgoing and she loves playing with my pets whenever she can and its a joy to babysit for them, however the dilemma is when their kid started to get attatched to me. She would always want to come into my room and when she wouldnt she would scream and cry, she would be rough with my pets and overall doesnt understand the concept of being gentle with things or they will break.

2 days ago I talked about this with the dad and I tried to explain that while I didnt mind babysitting or having her around sometimes when I need to do things or I have things I cherish she either messes with it or gets in the way ( for example if im deep cleaning the room she will come in and demand I play dog videos for her then when i do just so she wont bother me while I clean she will say my name over and over till i look and her and then keep going if i look away) I dont know how my message was relayed back to the mom but I can tell she did not take it lightly as now she yells for her daughter and time her daughter wants to play with me, doesnt really look at me, and our usual flowy conversations we would have are non existent. On top of that she was kind enough to create community things for everyone like an Ice box and now all the community items she set up are marked with her name and do not use

I tried talking to the dad today after noticing all of this as she wasnt around and he couldnt give me a straight answer and was just confused

EDITTT: So im seeing some comments and I thought Id answer some questions.

1. We are in a contractual lease till sept so we cant just move out

2. They have strictly told me not to parent her and if she does something to just talk to them

3. I talked to the dad because he is the stay at home part and she works full time

4. He is not abusive and neither is she

5. Yes there is a common ground between being a third parent and Being a total stranger

TL:DR TIFU by trying to attempt in setting a boundary with my roommates and their kid and now the mom wont interact with me much or allow her daughter too either, also started claiming things
