Evidently my state, county, and city all have seperste ones that stack. My city one is especially good, they offer a no interest equity loan for up to 30% of the house that come due only when you sell the house or move out. Let me emphesize that: My city will fund up to a 30% down payment on your house if you are a first time home buyer. The biggest hurdle is you need a 600 credit score and less than $20,000 in fluid assets (excluding retirement) That basically removes the barrier for purchasing a home for most people, and with that large of a down payment you should get a decent interest rate. Basically you could move towards home ownership for cheaper than renting. Thats without the potential grants from the state and county that are basically free money. Anyways, I thought that was crazy because I'd never heard of it. |
