A recent review published in The Lancet examines how China - which in 1980 had a diabetes prevalence of less than 1% - currently has the largest number of people with diabetes in the world.
... Diabetes is a critical public health challenge across the globe, with the affected population projected to grow to 1.31 billion by 2050. The authors of this paper emphasize the need for government action that goes beyond public education to include more effective measures like regulations on the industries contributing to harmful lifestyle and environmental factors. ... |

https://worldpopulationreview.com/country-rankings/diabetes-rates-by-country China is remarkable because diabetes seems to have a huge genetic influence with Polynesia and the Middle East being the center. Neighboring countries of China like Vietnam are low. China should have a low rate. (Edit: Vietnam is the exception. Taiwan and others are close to the Chinese number.) With Youtube only showing freshly made delivered food for influencers, what do Chinese eat that is so toxic? Though, maybe Vietnam is the exception because Cambodia, Indonesia, Taiwan and Mongolia are not much better than China. |

China has 1.4B people. They also have universal healthcare, so they know their diabetics. Over 400 million Chinese are obese or overweight now, so this is about bad diet, not fictitious toxins or endocrine disruptor bullshit. Other regions like India, no one knows anything about the health of a large portion of the country, but rates are up there anyway. |

While almost all citizens are covered by a basic health insurance, public health insurance generally only covers about half of medical costs, with the proportion being lower for serious or chronic illnesses. China's universal health care insurance is by far behind many Western systems. |
