AI seems a big one. More popular than sex & drugs afaict in high schools & higher education.

Tiny peeps seems to love it too, but often under the control of old people who are gripped with fear and panic about novel tech as the way of the world.

Pokemon Go.
Honestly, I thought that game had died out years ago; but just this week, I've seen two feral gangs of Go-ers lurching around the sidewalks with their eyes glued to their smarter-than-we-are phones, punching the air and shouting "Got One!" at frequent intervals.

That's not what that is, and it's a good thing, if they can get along.
