Seattle Torrent general manager Meghan Turner sat down to speak with Circling Seattle Sports about a number of topics ahead of the 2026-27 season ranging from the challenges of the inaugural season, the obstacles the expansion process this summer posed, the entry draft class, and much more.

If Abbey wants to embody who she is playing for, she better get ready to say "Protect Trans Kids" often and loudly

Turner: I appreciate the question because Abbey, throughout my conversations, it's clear that she is someone who doesn't play for herself, right? She is playing for, whether it's the University of Minnesota or the United States of America or her family or now the Seattle Torrent fan base. Like, that's who she's playing for, and I think she really embodies someone who plays for, you know, the old cliché of the name on the front of your chest, right?
