Fedora is nice out of the box, but what do you usually do after setup?

I'm just wondering, what are your experiences with Fedora out of the box? Do you have some kind of "ritual" so you customize it to your needs or to be comfortable with it? Or do you just roll with it vanilla style? Also, out of curiosity for the long time users, how much do you reinstall (if at all)? If not, how do you update if some customizations can't roll over (Gnome extensions or other things)?

In my case, the post-install procedure includes:

  • Adding RPMFusion

  • Installing proprietary codecs

  • Adding Brave Browser as an alternative to Firefox if needed (and to avoid YT ads)

  • Gnome Extensions Manager (and add Removable Menu, Logo Menu, True USB Write Progress, Desktop Icons, Caffeine, Clipboard History and Simple Taskbar, a recent discovery as alternative to Dash to Dock).

In fact, sometimes I think it would be great if the Fedora project considered to include a post install check like "do you want to include proprietary codecs and enable third party repositories?" just the ask if you want to include Flathub as a third party origin compared to Fedora Linux flatpak repos. That way, we could have RPMFusion and the codecs support out of the box easily, helping beginners from the start.

What about you?
