The new 2060 timeline for light rail stations in Interbay and Ballard assumes Sound Transit isn't able to unearth any major cost savings or unlock additional financial tools. But the agency painted an optimistic picture about being able to make inroads in those areas, pushing the opening to 2042.

Best case 2042 is bananas. Just build the damn train

The construction timeline for the second light rail tunnel under Downtown Seattle between SoDo and Seattle Center, meanwhile, has also slipped to 2042, Sound Transit also announced Friday.

I’m still annoyed that they don’t just connect to the Tacoma line either.
