Gotta teach em to scratch and peck the lens. Or somehow teach them to shit on the lens and chew the solar panel wire.

This is a very cool idea but given the apathy of Flock and their supporters, I worry for the health of the birds.

Put a button where the lenses are that dispenses a food pellet or something.

A small glass lens on a pivot that opens up to have food on the inside.

They don't need the visual camera to spy on you tho, they would still know where you are.

Yup. Even if you're "digitally naked" Wifi can be used as radar to detect people in real time.

Digital privacy has been a constant game of whack-a-mole for going on 50 years now with no end in sight.

24v 1.5a won't hurt them and if it did crows would probably catch on pretty quick.

Like I 100% would not put it past them to figure out which ones are feeders and only go for those.

Doesn’t really matter if they spend all their time on it

What a great accidentally created idea! I would put peanutbutter on the lens and French fries for the wires.

If you convince a crow there is a once in a hundred payoff inside you bet they can.

Drops food one the ground when the lens it hit hard enough. When they break real ones, throw some food on the ground so they don't stop.

Or, get your neighbors to also put out the flock replica bird feeders.

If you can get enough of them out there, then the birds will think every camera is a bird feeder. Even the ones you don't know about.

I would start with placing the reward in the hole with no lens. Then move to sugar glaas, then glass of varying thickness with the treat behind and they'll get it

If they're baggy enough they might be indistinguishable from a dress, then just wear a faraday cloak over it and you have yourself an amorphous void!

I feel like even just spraying animal-grease on it would attract enough wildlife that even if they didn't disable it they'd obstruct the view

I'm worried Flock would take draconian steps and add spikes or poison to deter the birds.

Yes & no. I'm assuming you bring this up because you're aware of the experiments that proved crows can recognized faces and socially hold grudges for multiple generations.

In order to train them we'd have to give them something recognizable like a face, or a specific uniform, or maybe a red 4 lettered hat, or swat/police uniforms

The challenging part is antagonizing crows geolocal to your target in a way that your target doesn't become aware of and adapt to. As we've determined crows are easily fooled by disguises.

I like the guy who blew a whistle and fed the pidgeons on the football field for an entire offseason. Genius.
