I feel like I need to realign my objectives and refocus my efforts on self-improvement!

I guess this (self-improvement) really is something I'm genuinely passionate about. I usually talk about myself as an empty husk of a person, a mindless wanderer with nothing to me other than some errant thoughts and mistaken ideas, no passion or taste or treasures to speak of, but I suppose I do have a bit of an interest in self-improvement, and in being a better person.

I've been eating poorly, so I'll try to fix that; I've been neglecting my studies, specifically my linguistic ambitions, so I'll fix that. This feels good, this feels right.

I'll go for that.

I wore shorts again!!!!! It is summer, and I'm not at work.

If there’s really nothing in there, what do you have to improve on?

Well, the husk, of course! Hence why I exercise. Also, I do have a mind, and as the ancients said: a sane mind in a sane body; so I value my education, and a varied and multidisciplinary education. Knowing a lot of things, how to do a lot of things as well, and developing the ability to do a lot of things; that's what I call self-improvement.

That being said, I was being perhaps a little hyperbolic in my initial statement, yes.

Your mead is awesome :D I hope it tasted great. That's really, really awesome.

Maybe you’d find similar satisfaction from something crafty?

Maybe, maybe... I've often thought of that. I did consider homebrewing specifically, as well, though I ended up not seeing it through as I don't drink alcohol; but I strongly considered getting into sewing or crochet, for example; drawing, other things. I do enjoy writing, in spurts, usually about nothing in particular.

I just find that my interests tend to be sporadic. I do like some things, but I don't usually like sticking with them, though I may come back eventually. You know? I don't think that's a bad thing, per se, but I do feel like many people have one or two things they really like, that they do often and regularly, basically, something that defines them or that is entrenched in their identity. I don't really have that... I've never really had that, at least not for more than a few months, maybe a couple years in a constant, slow descent of importance.

I do love reading and I read a lot, but I read a lot of random stuff, without any clear guiding principle. Personally, I think that's great! but I do find people tend to see it as boring or undefined, if that makes sense? Loose.

I guess, I wish I had something more solid that I could anchor my identity to, so when someone asks who I am or what I like I could give a simple and direct answer, instead of stumbling over my words.

Will I ever find a hobby that I like? I'm really not sure I will. I'm not sure I'm the kind of person that can like a hobby. I'm sure I'll find things I will enjoy doing, but I'm not sure I'll ever be someone that enjoys doing any one particular thing or set of things. Other than reading about a bunch of stuff.

I don't know, maybe it's a silly concern to begin with. I do think it is a silly concern, but I am concerned nonetheless! Accursed me!

Anyway, very cool mead, I really did very much like that.
