We assigned my wife to be right and me to be left. Whenever we arrive at a hotel or are overnight guests in someone's home, she takes the towel on the right and I take the one on the left, no discussion needed. Whenever either one of us refills drinks, we hold her glass in our right hand and mine in our left, so no confusion. Whoever makes salads before dinner puts them on the counter with hers on the right and mine on the left (we like different vegetables so the salads aren't identical).

I tell our friends it's easy to remember because she's always right and I'm what's left.
