I did. See the listening bit is quiet. You may not have noticed when it was happening. All sorts of dots to connect with you, and I haven't even stalked your profile. "skill issue, get a library card". You are being sarcastic, but metaphorically I am putting your face between my palms and trying to get you to nod along as I emphatically say 'Yes. Library card.'

Not sure if I really agree here. These insecurities don't materialize out of thin air for no reason. They are usually the result of prior experiences. Men don't wake up in the morning and think: "Damn I'm too short that sucks". They are usually being rejected or humiliated multiple times because of being short in order to be insecure about it.

They are usually being rejected or humiliated multiple times because of being short

Or maybe that's just what they blame the rejection on.

We can be our own worst critics. Others don't necessarily see the same "flaws" that we might see in ourselves.

5'6" who had a 4'11" roommate in college and both of us were absolute HOUNDS. I am happily married now. To a woman an inch and a half taller than me

5'7" is the average male height in the US btw, so it's not like 5'6" is manlet territory. For whatever reason we have decided as a society that average male height is around 6 foot despite only 14.5% of American men being 6ft or taller.

Well, yes, and I stand by what I said (even tho I'm not really blaming anyone, rather pointing out the source), but that is still not really clearing up what you're trying to say here either.

that is some next level type of uncritical thinking about your exact phrase its laughable, i assume you are actually more intelligent than a cockroach and you know very well you are espousing misogynistic views.

I dont get why if you are short you have to hate on women that dont date under 6'. There's a majority who literally dont give a fuck why do you HAVE to want the ones that do?

There's certainly something there in not wasting time and energy hating [insert negative descriptor] people, but I think actively hate and passively have a hugely negative opinion on are different things.

I'm not dating short men, or men with a small penis, or men who are too fat, or balding men. I don't date at all. Date is the sticky fruit from a palm tree. I love instead. First of all myself - because I can only love others as well as I can love myself. And also I love a short, small-penised, fat old balding guy without teeth. Because he isn't insecure about any of those things. And I respect...

I half agree with you, but I still take my wife out on dates. We're having our last summer coffee brunch tomorrow before the school year really starts.

Enjoy your coffee brunch! Me going on against dates was more connected to the unavoidability of this concept in the minds of some people. It takes such a big important place in their life, success with dating becomes so important, that they forget to be a person first of all. So my comment was meant to question this reality rather than go full Taliban against brunch and lunch dates. I did a lunch date yesterday - because mornings are for outdoor work!

Or, they got rejected and humiliated many times years before the big, bad manosphere was even a thing, and even before they knew that they were considered short. Maybe some men overstate it, but it is a major issue in some parts of the world. (It's cultural, so if it's not an issue where you are, that doesn't make it not an issue.)

Toxic masculinity existed long before it got a name.

If they got rejected many times before specifically because they are short, they should update their choice in women instead of blaming all of them.

Don't make up details about another's experiences in order to dismiss them. It's childish.

They aren't being dismissive. If you have been rejected many times before for being short, it is still inaccurate to blame all women for it and assume all women will react the same way.

It's the same the other way around. If a tall woman is rejected often by men because of her height, it is still sexist to assert that all men hate tall women.

I still don't think they were being dismissive by pointing out that short men should seek out women that don't care about their height instead of getting resentful.

man, I had a coworker who was all of 5'3", a smoker, nerd (love me nerds), kinda annoying (to me) never worked out outside of our physically demanding job, and with an actual medically diagnosed BO problem he needed special deodorant for. He had a loving girlfriend for all the years I knew him. She was thin like he was, and they were like peas in a pod and spent thier time off gaming together. He was Kind, and helpful, same as she was.

Y'all need to get your affairs in order over in the US so I can move over there because at 5'10" I'm well below average in my country.

CDC data does show the average for males being 5'9" in the US though. 5'7" is the average globally. Over here the average is 6' because I lucked into being a short king in the third tallest country in the world apparently.

I have literally never met a person that actually had a 6' height requirement for dating. All of my girlfriends have dated men shorter than them at some point. I was married to a man an inch shorter than me and I had his kid. This is anecdotal and obviously there are some out there with this crazy requirement, but I do think it's overblown online. When people lead with their insecurities, it's ...

I've seen 180 cm listed as the minimum on a bunch of Tinder profiles, but I've never swiped right on any of them to find out if they're serious. It's a bit below 6', 6' flat is about the average male height but we use the metric system so easier to just write 180 cm rather than 183 or whatever.

It's also usually been short women for some reason. Seen plenty of 180+ cm tall women on Tinder too and none have had a minimum height requirement listed.

Do note that when I say "a bunch", I don't mean a super high percentage, because I've spent enough years on Tinder to have seen thousands of people here in a country of ~1.3 million and the ones who had a minimum height requirement would be in the two or three digit count.

Usually it's like "pls be over 180 cm", "swipe left if you're a boy under 180 cm" (with the diminutive form of 'boy' used) or something like that.

That still leaves like 99% of women not putting that in their bio, but if you have low self-esteem and get few matches, you just notice all the ones that do and think "hmm maybe the others just don't say it out loud".

so:denial. I've talked to plenty of women who openly admit they wouldn't date someone shorter, including women whom I've dated. The six-foot minimum thing is a seperate issue, but I think I tend to agree with you--it's bogus and/or disqualifying; though online dating is a cruelty-magnifying machine.

When I was dating in my 20's, I wanted someone taller. I thought it reasonable because im 5 foot.. and chubby. Skinny short guys made me feel like I was a monster cuddling with them, and I felt fatter than I was. That was it. I still dated a few short skinny guys. Sometimes people just say things.

No Scarcity needed to be called out for pushing a tired, sexist trope. Incel ideology should be called out. Why pretend to be a woman with these views if it's supposedly so common? This is literally painting women as gaslighting abusers that are giving men false hope.

By saying their nutsack is showing? Both users in this picture are bad. It's all bad. I hate that people find anything in this picture not grotesque. It all makes me deeply uncomfortable.

I was there, young one, back when the ancient scripts were written.

T'was the early 00's and I, as was fashionable at the time, used to use the information superhighway or "internet" as we call it now. Back then, a lot of men used to include "weight limits" on their dating profiles, catfishing being rather common back then. To counter this, a group of women started, and you'll laugh here, adding "height minimums" to their dating profiles to poke fun at such presumptuous men.

Well, as you can imagine, those young men were so very angry, especially when fat-shaming became socially unacceptable, whereas height jokes became the norm.

Witticisms aside - the whole "height" issue incels raise has its roots in feminist trolling, which was aimed as a counter to weight shaming.

There are people who want to be pissed and shit on, and other people who can only cum via balloon popping, and other people still who need extreme racism in the bedroom to get off...

And people think the hard line is 6 foot, which statistically makes 0 sense as there exist short people in perfectly happy relationships.
