I use DNF for upgrades and I sometimes do check what is being upgraded. One time I had problem with plasma after update and learnt from internet search that I needed a restart to fix it. Today I updated and it was a kernel patch. Still Fedora didn't recommend a reboot. Shouldn't there be some warning about reboot after major upgrades? After a quick search I learnt about a command needs-restarting. Shouldn't this be a default? Why is it an option that a user must explicitly ask DNF if the system needs a restart? Feels like an oversight given how good DNF is by default. |
