Are the rules on this community too strict? You're the moderator of it but you don't seem to be limiting yourself to original research sources :)

What do you mean?

Perhaps I misinterpreted this

Press release distribution, popsci and “science journalism” websites except Futurity, The Conversation and Scimex are not allowed;

It seems to be saying that only those 3 websites are allowed?

Oh no, you misunderstood it.

I meant only original websites(university/education websites and research papers links) + the mentioned exceptions.

The reason for this rule is to not get posts from websites like popsci, science daily and other websites that take the original press release from university/research website and distribute it with ads and clickbait title.

My wording might be bad, as I am not a native English speaker.

Edit: on unrelated note, I just added EurekAlert to the list of exceptions.

Ah I see.

I would word it like this

Press release distribution, popsci and “science journalism” websites are not allowed, except Futurity, The Conversation, EurekAlert and Scimex.

or maybe

Press release distribution, popsci and “science journalism” websites are not allowed, although Futurity, The Conversation, EurekAlert and Scimex are ok.

What is "science journalism"? Like this https://www.sciencedaily.com/ and this https://spacedaily.com/ ??

I will change my wording to your wording better.

About your question, Sciencedaily is pure press release distribution website dressed as journalism.

But yes, Spacedaily is considered science journalism.

Basically no articles from journalists. Only articles by real scientists.
