On April 3, plaintiff Andrei Tomescu filed a lawsuit against Teremana parent company Siete Bucks Spirits in Illinois federal court. Tomescu claims to have bought a bottle of Johnson’s tequila earlier in the year, believing that it was made exclusively with Blue Weber agave, as stated on the label. According to the filing, independent lab testing later revealed that the bottle was diluted with at least 10% of either cane- or corn-derived ethanol — the very same used to make rum or bourbon, respectively.

Tomescu also took issue with Teremana’s “small batch” and “handcrafted” marketing claims, reminding the court that the brand is capable of producing at least 12 million bottles annually.

“The product Tomescu purchased is industrially manufactured mixed tequila so he didn’t purchase a small-batch, high-value spirit, but rather a generic spirit with an overinflated price,” the lawsuit reads.

My rule of never buying distilled spirits owned/repped by a celebrity works pretty well. They always seem to be overpriced swill, whether its aviation, Ron White's tequila, Clooney's tequila or any of the dozens of others. Anything that depends on a celebrity to market it can't stand on its own legs with its quality

I always thought it was odd that the Rock is selling a tequila brand.

It's all a grift. Celebrities found they can make money off of suckers by putting their name on a crappy product and charging more.

All I see are Krusty brand products. It was common in the 90s, but it's absolutely rampant today.

It's an indication they are spending their budget on advertising, not production.

You have to be a first class loser to buy products from a celebrity to begin with. They aren't selling something because they believe in the product they are selling it because they believe in the grift.

In my opinion all gin is the worst gin because it tastes like sucking off a pine tree, but I imagine Ryans gin is somehow worse.
