I had to take a personality test during a job interview once. Needless to say, that office dynamic was toxic as fuck. |

Acing a course in psychometry over a decade ago has left me with strong opinions about personality tests and a general disillusionment with human resources itself as an industry. |

Timothy Leary was an actual psychology professor who became famous in the 1960's for advocating the use of LSD. He was eventually arrested and sent to prison. While in jail he was given a psychology test to help the officials determine where he should be placed. After he took the test they decided that he was a co-operative fellow with little ambition and perfectly safe to be allowed out of the prison to help landscape the area. They were a bit surprised after he escapes, and more amazed when they learned he had written the test himself. |

It's because of a basic lack of critical thinking and science education. That's what happens when Republicans cheapen the public schools for 50 years. |

Myers-Briggs was designed in the 1940's. Its popularity over more accurate tests is attributed to the attractive categories as opposed to a set of fluid traits. |

You're not wrong. If American schools were any good they'd be more aware that there are other countries |

Disagree. If this is simply your defense of the Myers Briggs test, don't you see that the test roots it's legitimacy in claiming to be a part of the science of psychology? And therefore if psychology is fake, MBTI is also fake If not in defense of MBTI, then all I have to say is that I disagree. |

Does the MBTI even have any negative results though? It seems to just say. "You're this, you're that". Then shower you with some praise in case you don't like this or that. |

would it be the job of a personality test to judge a trait as"bad'? everything depends on context, which the test is ignorant of. |
