I just saw an article of the Guardian (link : https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2026/aug/07/sterling-point-prime-tv-show-teen-drama ) saying that the teen/YA genre is thriving but I'll say it's mostly dying. Same copy paste white/straight romances, with same clichés and tropes. After watching the horrid season 3 of My Life With The Walter Boys (which was somehow the best season of this show). I decided to do a little digging into my favorite YA/teen shows, especially since I'm working on a YA project. And I got to Veronica Mars and just saw how praised it was. I mean, I knew the show was critically acclaimed, but it was like reallllly loved by writers and authors alike.

Like the show was never a viewership success but critics loved it so much. The show was praised so much by critics but also by really amazing and respected writers among them were : Joss Whedon said it was the "Best. Show. Ever. Seriously, I've never gotten more wrapped up in a show I wasn't making, and maybe even more than those [...] These guys know what they're doing on a level that intimidates me. It's the Harry Potter of shows."

Kevin Smith said that it was "hands-down, the best show on television right now, and proof that TV can be far better than cinema."

Stephen King said that it was a mix of"Nancy Drew meets Philip Marlowe, and the result is pure nitro. Why is Veronica Mars so good? It bears little resemblance to life as I know it, but I can't take my eyes off the damn thing."

EdBrubaker called it "the best mystery show ever made in America.".

The show was seen as "Alias in its attitude, Raymond Chandler in its writing and The O.C. in its class-consciousness."

Apparently, many critics felt like Kristen Bell was robbed of an Emmy for her performances in the show (I completly agree, because I feel like with The Good Place, VM was her best role and allowed to shine in dramatic departement).
