If any of you are habitually on Reddit like I am you may have seen a comment I made on someone's post about a month ago talking about how walmart sold me a fake drive, I sent it in to Seagate to honor their warranty (didn't know it was a fake drive yet), and was told it was a fake drive. This all started on 06 June. It is now 07 Aug and I just barely got the drive back from Seagate literally in pieces; not at all how I sent it to them. There is certainly a different drive in there as it appears to be a 20 year old WD, but I can't tell you if Walmart ripped me off or Seagate. I am now in the process of trying to return it to Walmart to get a refund. 2.5 months, $20 in shipping later just to maybe get $130 back from Walmart. Sometimes too good to be true is a saying for a reason. Never trust anyone to help you on this process either. First Walmart told me they'd refund me then didn't. Then said if I send them proof from Seagate it's fake they'd refund me, then didn't. Then they said they'd make a special exemption to refund me, still didn't. I am now about to ship them this drive fully expecting them to turn around and say they won't refund me because it's not a Seagate drive. Wish me luck. |
