If you're leaving a job, don't wait until your last day to collect your personal employment documents.

Before your access is removed, make sure you have copies of things like:

  1. Payslips
  2. Offer and joining letter
  3. Appraisal or increment letters
  4. Form 16 and other tax documents
  5. Relieving/experience letter, once available

Keep them somewhere you can access later.

I learned this the hard way. Once your company account is closed, getting an old document can become surprisingly annoying.

Just make sure you're only saving your own employment records and not any confidential company files.
