Will Scharf - the other person Robert Bigelow says was present for his UAP/NHI briefing with Trump - has been named White House Counsel. This caught my attention this morning and I thought it was worth documenting here, although let me be clear that I’m not suggesting this is evidence of a connection to disclosure efforts. Last week, Robert Bigelow and George Knapp released the first episode of The Bigelow Podcast. During the interview, Bigelow discussed a meeting he had with President Trump in the Oval Office in which he says he briefed Trump on seven subjects. One of those subjects was UAP/NHI and the possibility of disclosure. One detail stuck out to me at the time: Bigelow specifically identified the other person present for the meeting as Will Scharf, Trump’s White House Staff Secretary. I had never heard Scharf’s name before, so it was strange seeing it again only a few days later as AP is now reporting that Trump has selected Will Scharf to become the new White House Counsel beginning September 1. White House Counsel advises the presidency on legal and policy questions, serves as the White House’s primary contact with DOJ, handles presidential pardons and judicial appointments, reviews legislation, and helps manage congressional investigations. Scharf’s existing position is also relevant: as Staff Secretary, he has been responsible for managing the documents and information crossing the President’s desk. Again, there is no evidence I’m aware of that Scharf’s appointment has anything to do with UAP disclosure, but the sequence is interesting: February 6: Bigelow says he meets with Trump in the Oval Office and briefs him on UAP/NHI and disclosure, with Will Scharf present. Last week: Bigelow publicly identifies Scharf as the other participant in that meeting. August 9: Trump announces Scharf will become White House Counsel. Probably coincidence. But given the subject matter of the Bigelow meeting and the institutional role Scharf is now moving into, I thought the overlap was worth documenting. |
