This is an automated archive made by the Lemmit Bot.

From 2009-2014, the Mises Institute published a set of torrents with their complete media archive — books, journals, and about a decade of lecture recordings. We painstakingly curated 150+ years of economics and politics writing into a public collection.

Then the years did what they do: seeders dropped off, the Institute redesigned its site and discontinued large parts of the collection (including its entire wiki), and chunks of the archive became effectively unrecoverable unless you'd grabbed them early.

I had. I was the Mises.org webmaster for 12 years, and a few weeks ago I decided to turn my copy into a proper library instead of a dying torrent.

The result: https://freecapitalists.org/

What's in the collection:

  • 941 books (PDF + EPUB)
  • 219 of those EPUBs are new — converted from PDF-only scans that never had an ebook edition, each verified with a word-count check against the source PDF
  • 2,461 journal PDFs
  • 2,732 audio/video recordings — 1,520 hours across 165 lecture series
  • 12.4 million words of transcripts, generated from that audio with Whisper, published alongside the recordings
  • 22.2 million words of full book text as browsable per-chapter HTML, not just download links
  • 316 authors
  • The discontinued Mises Wiki, restored and independently hosted: https://wiki.freecapitalists.org/

Everything is Creative Commons or public domain — that's how the Institute originally licensed it, which is what makes this rehost legal and permanent.

Torrents are live: https://freecapitalists.org/torrents/

If you can throw a seedbox at any of it, that's the whole ask. This archive already almost died once; the fix is copies.
