I don’t gatekeep raids, but some people really need to stop putting training groups in Experienced Raid LFG without making it clear that they’re training.

This was an 8/10-man LFG for daily SH, with no KP requirement or anything, but it was listed under Experienced Raids. I joined because I assumed it was a normal experienced group. The commander immediately started asking me if I was actually experienced, like, “Are you exp?” and “Are you sure you’re exp?” — probably because I only had around 3k AP on that alt for the daily.

I just played normally because I am experienced. I wasn’t faking anything or trying to sneak into a group I didn’t belong in.

Then we started wiping.

1st try: Nobody CC’d Desmina.

2nd try: We wiped to the TD explosion.

Then 3rd, 4th, 5th wipe...

At that point, I had to relog because my ArcDPS was broken. After reinstalling it and coming back, I was honestly surprised when I checked the numbers.

I was #3 DPS with around 20k DPS on Ritualist in SH, which isn't even a good benchmark for that fight. Meanwhile, some other players were doing around 7–8k DPS.

I don't hate training groups. If this was clearly labeled as a training squad, I wouldn't have cared at all. I would've joined knowing what I was getting into.

But the LFG was advertised as a daily SH group in the Experienced Raids section. So when I asked in chat, “Our DPS is pretty low, someone is doing 8k DPS,” I wasn't trying to attack anyone. I was genuinely wondering if they had the wrong gear or were doing something wrong with their rotation. Even a bad DPS player can usually do considerably more than that on SH, so I thought something might be wrong.

Instead, I got kicked and blocked.

Honestly, I don't really mind getting called out if I was being rude or too harsh. That's fair. But if they're guildies who are still learning, you can simply acknowledge the mistake and help them improve.

Like, “Oh, they're still training? Let me check their gear.” Then you might find out, “Oh, that's why their DPS is so low. They're using this gear/build, so I shouldn't expect much yet.”

That's completely fine.

What I don't understand is pretending it's an Experienced Raid group, hiding the fact that it's actually a training group, and then kicking someone for pointing out the obvious performance problem.

I don't care if people are learning. Just label the LFG honestly so everyone knows what they're joining.
