My autistic son (who probably has hyperacusis) is starting college next week and needs a Windows laptop that he can also play games on. Unfortunately, he's extremely bothered by fan noise. We've already taken back a Lenovo and replaced it with an ASUS Zenbook, but the fan is driving him crazy (I can't even hear it), so we'll probably return it tomorrow. This is a long shot, but I was wondering if anyone with hypersensitive hearing has found a laptop that doesn't bother them. I've read that a Macbook would be our best bet, but he insists on Windows. I've suggested wearing headphones to block the sound, but (long story) his headphones are currently missing and he won't let me buy him new ones. |
