Note: I’m not a scholar: this is NOT for a research assignment or publication. I’m so curious. I do have other people in my family who are autistic, although my sister is the only one with a formal diagnosis. I just feel like with all this autism disinformation I wanna see if there are a lot of other families where autism runs in the family. The is an informal poll done out of curiosity. For the purpose of this poll, this only applies to biological family. Immediate and extended family are defined as below: Immediate family: biological parents, siblings*, and children of the participant. *Siblings include half-siblings. Extended family: biological grandparents, first cousins, aunts/uncles*, and* nieces/nephews**. *Aunts and uncles must be the biological sibling of a biological parent. Nieces and nephews must be the biological child of a biological sibling. |
