Quelle honte cette berlinale qui rend hommage à un militaire sioniste.Elle a eu raison de refuser son prix, la réalisatrice du film sur l'assassinat de Hind Rajab> ❗️Director of 'The Voice of Hind Rajab' refuses Berlinale Award over Israeli military honoreepalestinechronicle.com/justiceTunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania refused to accept the "Most Valuable Film" award at the Berlin International Film Festival’s Cinema for Peace event, leaving the trophy behind after an Israeli general was honored at the same ceremony. The director highlighted the killing of five-year-old Palestinian girl Hind Rajab in Gaza in 2024 as a symbol of systemic violence.“I refuse to let their deaths become a backdrop for a polite speech about peace,” Ben Hania said, describing Hind’s death as part of an ongoing genocide and calling for justice and accountability instead of slogans. The film centers on Hind’s final hours, including a three-hour phone call with Palestine Red Crescent dispatchers while trapped in a car riddled with over 300 Israeli bullets.Over 80 artists, including Tilda Swinton, Javier Bardem, and Mike Leigh, signed an open letter urging the festival to oppose Israel’s genocide in Gaza and uphold artists’ freedom to speak out. The Berlinale has yet to respond.#hindRajab#berlinale #palestine#gaza@palestine@lemmy.ml @palestine@tagpush.app @gazanotice
