I went back through the Q2 13Fs from scratch because institutional data gets messy fast.

Amendments. Confidential treatment. Manager changes. Options mixed with common stock. Trackers showing positions before the actual 13F is comparable.

So I rebuilt this using Q1 vs Q2 on the same reporting basis wherever possible.

And the result is much more interesting than I initially thought.

Three major institutions now show the exact same pattern:

GME UP.

EBAY DOWN.

BLACKROCK

GME:

35,881,670 β†’ 36,745,852

+2.41%

EBAY:

40,657,936 β†’ 39,435,323

-3.01%

BlackRock increased GME while reducing EBAY during Q2.

STATE STREET

GME:

12,642,257 β†’ 13,048,055

+3.21%

EBAY:

22,286,366 β†’ 21,812,915

-2.12%

Again.

More GME. Less EBAY.

Same quarter. Same direction.

Then I checked Dimensional.

And this is where it gets pretty fucking interesting.

DIMENSIONAL FUND ADVISORS

GME:

3,909,284 β†’ 6,897,563

+76.44%

Nearly 3 MILLION additional GME shares.

At the same time:

EBAY:

4,901,415 β†’ 4,510,769

-7.97%

So Dimensional didn't just increase GME.

They increased their GME position by 76% while cutting EBAY by almost 8%.

That gives us three major managers doing the same thing during the same quarter:

BlackRock: GME +2.41% / EBAY -3.01%

State Street: GME +3.21% / EBAY -2.12%

Dimensional: GME +76.44% / EBAY -7.97%

That is no longer one weird datapoint.

But I also wanted to make sure I wasn't just finding what I wanted to find.

So here are the institutions that DO NOT follow the pattern.

GEODE

GME increased about 0.90%.

EBAY increased about 1.07%.

GME ↑ / EBAY ↑

So this is clearly not some universal passive-index rebalance forcing every large institution into more GME and less EBAY.

DEUTSCHE BANK

Common GME:

62,248 β†’ 64,781

+4.07%

EBAY:

1,956,896 β†’ 1,992,658

+1.83%

GME ↑ / EBAY ↑

Deutsche also reported GME calls and convertible notes, but those are separate instruments and I'm not mixing them into the common-share comparison.

BNY MELLON

GME:

2,362,597 β†’ 2,225,808

-5.79%

EBAY:

2,800,459 β†’ 2,527,776

-9.74%

GME ↓ / EBAY ↓

So BNY has filed. It is not pending and it does not fit the GME-up / EBAY-down pattern.

NORGES BANK

This one needs a giant asterisk.

Their Q2 filing shows:

5,201,045 GME shares

and

1,315,606 EBAY shares

But I'm NOT calling either of those a Q2 purchase.

Why?

Because Norges' Q1 filing explicitly says it was submitted pursuant to a request for confidential treatment.

That means the public Q1 information table is incomplete.

Comparing that incomplete Q1 filing with the fully visible Q2 filing could make previously hidden positions look like brand new purchases.

So Norges is:

Q/Q: NOT COMPARABLE

This is exactly the kind of thing that can massively distort 13F tracking if you just look at what suddenly appears on a website.

AND THEN THERE'S VANGUARD

Vanguard is another reporting trap.

The old Vanguard Group 13F structure stopped after Q4 2025.

Q1 reporting moved into entities including Vanguard Capital Management and Vanguard Portfolio Management, with restatements/new-holdings filings involved.

So seeing GME or EBAY suddenly appear under those managers does NOT mean Vanguard suddenly bought all those shares.

As of August 13, their current 13F histories still stop at Q1.

I'm waiting for their Q2 filings before making any comparison.

And despite some institutional trackers already showing their names alongside current holdings:

Citadel has NOT filed its Q2 13F yet.

Its latest SEC 13F is still Q1.

Susquehanna has NOT filed its Q2 13F yet either.

Its latest SEC filing is also still Q1.

So the cleaned-up board as of August 13 looks like this:

BlackRock: GME ↑ / EBAY ↓ βœ…

State Street: GME ↑ / EBAY ↓ βœ…

Dimensional: GME ↑↑↑ / EBAY ↓ βœ…

Geode: GME ↑ / EBAY ↑

Deutsche Bank: GME ↑ / EBAY ↑

BNY Mellon: GME ↓ / EBAY ↓

Norges Bank: Q/Q not comparable due to Q1 confidential treatment

Vanguard: Q2 pending, reporting structure changed

Citadel: Q2 pending

Susquehanna: Q2 pending

This does NOT prove these institutions are positioning for a GameStop/eBay transaction.

13Fs don't tell us why somebody owns or sells something. They are quarter-end snapshots.

But the interesting part is no longer hypothetical.

Three separate major institutions increased their GameStop positions while simultaneously reducing their eBay positions during Q2.

BlackRock did it.

State Street did it.

And Dimensional did it on a massive scale, increasing GME by 76.44% while reducing EBAY by 7.97%.

Meanwhile the controls show this is NOT happening at every institution.

That's what makes the pattern interesting.

And three of the names I care most about haven't shown their Q2 hands yet:

Vanguard.

Citadel.

Susquehanna.

If even one or two of those come back GME ↑ / EBAY ↓, this gets a lot harder to wave away as coincidence.

TLDR: BlackRock, State Street and Dimensional all increased GME while cutting EBAY in Q2. Dimensional increased GME 76%. This is not happening at every institution. Vanguard, Citadel and Susquehanna still haven't filed Q2.
