How is this legal? I’ve been unemployed for two months now, and I’ve been DESPERATE for a job. I’ve applied to everything, stuff I wouldn’t normally work and worse. I had an interview last tuesday for a food place (not my first option but, i need money) and they hired me! I went in the next day and filled out all the paper work and the GM showed me I was in the system. He said he would get back with me on the schedule. Ok, two days go by with nothing. I text him hey just checking when I come in, I don’t wanna miss anything! He replies ‘Oh yes busy day I’ll let you know.’ Two more days go by so I text again. He replies ‘Oh yes in a meeting I’ll get back with you shortly!’ Another day passes, I tried to call this time to no answer. How is it legal to hire someone then never give them hours? What’s the point of doing all this anyways? Why did I have to sit there for two hours and fill out all the hiring paper work and talk to the GM if he knew he was never going to actually schedule me? What does the company gain from keeping me on standby! I need money and I’m not gonna sit on the bench like a football player!! It’s been over a week. I already started applying to more places again, I just feel so hopeless right now. Why is it so hard to get hired somewhere? I have years of experience! Ugh I’m so over it!! |
