I realize that autism is a spectrum and that we don’t all experience 100% of traits associated with ASD, but I am just curious if anyone else with ASD has the following in common with me:

I am sensitive to people’s change in tone of voice, am pretty proficient at reading body language, and for the most part do not struggle to catch sarcasm, though I occasionally take things too literally and am sometimes pretty gullible.

I usually do not struggle with the receptive aspect of communication, but do struggle with the expressive part of communication in that I struggle with eye contact, constantly wonder how much eye contact to make, consciously look around the room occasionally during conversation to avoid too much eye contact (whatever that is), etc. I also usually look at the person’s mouth instead of their eyes.

TLDR; Anyone similar to me in that you’re pretty proficient at picking up nonverbal communication, but are bad at participating in conversation?

Thanks!
