My media queue has become so overwhelming that it's reached back around to meaninglessness. There's so many books I want to read, so many albums I want to listen to, and so many movies I want to watch that the order I'd tenuously settled on, the hyper-granular priority level I assigned to each one, has lost all weight and become nothing more than a light suggestion, a probably misheard suggestion whispered into the wind.

Of course, I can't possibly keep track of everything I want to engage with. I don't know every book I want to read, but I do know some of them, and whenever I come across others I'd been interested in I'm reminded that they're on the list! It's a nice feeling.

What book do I read next? What movie do I watch next? These questions have a simple answer: whatever I feel like getting to after what I was getting to is gotten to; simple as.

I'm enjoying Ascendance of a Bookworm, so I might stick with that for a while, but if when I finish this volume I feel like reading something else that's what I'll do. I have so much stuff lined up that they're not lined up at all! They're roughly arranged in an incomprehensible mess that hints at a structure. It's like that joke about horrors behind our comprehension; they're not scary because we can't comprehend them. My TBR isn't daunting, because it's so beyond reason that I can't comprehend it. Gladly, of course, as this allows me to ignore it.

I feel comfortable with this arrangement.

And, I wore shorts again today. Who'd a thunk it, ay?
