I have gtx1070 in my PC, when Doom the Dark Ages came out I initially got upset that it requires ray tracing because I did not think my hardware is outdated but now I realised - the only reason I feel like my PC isn't outdated is because none of the new AAA games interested me (besides Doom) it runs Elden Ring, it runs Total War Warhammer 3, those are the newest AAA games I've had any interest in and both are 4 years old already and running on engines that are, basically, as old as my PC (with only minor improvements) new hardware doesnt make old hardware obsolete - new, more demanding games do so, for a while, hardware basically stopped going obsolete because there just arent that many games that demand upgrades, and the ones that do often aren't very enticing anyway (like, I'm not buying a new videocard just to play Oblivion again, ok?) |
