I’m a product design engineer who has been designing parts for plastic injection molding & rotomolding for over half of my 25 year career, as well as parts for aluminum and zinc castings. It is so hard for me to remember that when designing parts for my 3d printer, I don’t have to worry as much about thick walls, thick-thin-thick transitions, sink marks, etc. Anyone else in this same boat: what other plastic design rules did you have to unlearn when designing parts for 3d printing? |
