Sounds sadly unsurprising, social media's toxic disruptive effects, as well as the influence of the far-right. I started to write something about patriarchy right here, and it got longer and longer, so I'm going to keep developing it and post it to !askhistorians@piefed.social in a bit. But in very brief, I believe that patriarchy is part of a late-stage power grab that arose out of early agriculture and civilisation. Patriarchy isn't our natural state, and for sure deserves pushback. This relates to the fact that the whole idea of 'TradWives' is largely nonsense, directly related to the invention of a rich male-dominated hierarchy. I might sound like a kook with all that, but my working conclusions are heavily based on science and history, and I'll try to fully explain in that coming post. Cheers. |
