I have been tracking the trading card inventory on Gamestop's website for a few months now after I noticed a big drop in inventory back in mid May of this year. I was happily surprised to see that from June through last week the inventory of Pokemon cards went from 4,000 cards to just over 50,000 cards in inventory. I built the tracker to specifically look for another big drop in inventory. Well over the last two days over 30,000 cards have left the website. My assumption is they are reloading Power Packs, or maybe about to open a new tier or category of Power Packs. Edit: I also just noticed a drop in One Piece, Baseball, Basketball and Football. Although these categories aren't as large as Pokemon, it's still interesting to see. |
