Working on integrating Exodus Privacy data directly into LibreFind. Right now the app suggests FOSS alternatives, but soon it will also show you exactly which ad/analytics trackers and dangerous permissions are embedded inside the proprietary apps you're replacing.

Still wiring it up, but test builds will be up on Codeberg soon.

Ironic.

P.s. this is not a serious complaint. This is a neat app.

How hard would it be to make an app that reverse-searches app package names for their source code repo and looks for which liscence is used

I got a very low score because 90% of the Foss apps are unknown or pending.

Also interesting enough, I have an app on github and on play store and it marked it propietary despite code available and has GPLv3 license. This app still needs some work.

There are a ton of apps that show up as "proprietary" that aren't. Firefox, Home Assistant, etc. are showing up as proprietary, but their source code is published and they have some form of non-proprietary license. It's not GPLv2 or v3, but giving it a red proprietary badge seems a bit much.

Only as hard as it is to create the AI prompt to build it.

It's odd that it shows Brave as FOSS but not Firefox. Assuming it's not merely that nobody listed Firefox as FOSS yet and it's because Firefox's page says the "source code" is licensed under MPL but not the binary itself... Brave literally has this on the app.

My understanding was that all rights reserved meant specifically not foss. Like it's just the default copyright. But Brave lists itself as using MPL on another page. Which is ironic, because obviously Firefox uses MPL.

I feel like this is just because nobody submitted Firefox as FOSS yet.

I'm pretty sure it's just the name "Firefox" that is copyright/trademarked, IIRC.

Can't copyright a name, it's trademarked though.

Hi. The latest release introduced some major bugs that affected the app scanning/detection. Please download the latest pre-release.
