Parents should not have the rights or control they do over children.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I think all children should be raised as nonbinary or genderless, and when they’re ready they can choose who they want to be instead of having it forced on them

I think children should be encouraged to experiment with what suits them more. I was raised fairly degendered and it kinda sucked. I might've been protected from a lot of toxic masculinity, but I didn't discover how much I hated it until I became more independent. On the other hand, I never once got an opportunity to experiment with femininity, and so I genuinely didn't know how much I liked it until I was already an adult.

Being AMAB kinda defaulted me to being male. Combined with my natural inclination to be quiet and blend in, I exclusively went with "boy" so as to not rock the boat. I was told that gender didn't matter, so what would be the point in trying femininity out? I didn't even consider that I would prefer it.

The main thing is encouraging kids to discover what's right for them, letting them know that everything is an option and making it clear that you'll support anything they choose. I don't think raising kids without gender is the answer; they should be raised with all the gender until it becomes clear what they want.

If new means 10 months, then I guess so! My account is new because I came out as trans and wanted to change my username from guy to girl

my username was Another Guy and I changed it to Another Neko after I played Nekopara and to Another Catgirl when I realized that my gender is important and I don't wanna be a catboy at all

I know it would never happen, but imagine a society where everyone is treated as genderless until say 16 and then you get to choose and announce your gender and its like a whole ceremony. Like the gender reveals people do for babies but actually cool

but also having it as being at an age would problematically pressure people to pick by then, so lets have it not at any fixed age but just when the person wants

fun fact, the only reason they do is due to the historic precedence that offspring are considered assets... when you realise that then you realise why the control layer still exists socially and why some people obsess over it

We also have people trying to take trans kids away from supportive parents that love them, and we have a culture that still views sexual repression as somewhere between nuteral and holy.
