In Big Brother, if it's past the jury stage they don't go home, they go to the jury house

In Survivor, nobody goes home until they finish filming the season

I recently watched an 8 episode show on Netflix called Million Dollar Secret, given it was filmed over 8 days I don't think anyone went home until it was finished.

Why do they all constantly refer to being eliminated from the game as going home?
