I really appreciate a 36 year old article, from a time when sex changes and trans sexuality was broadly treated as a joke, consistently using only correct pronouns and treating the situation well.

Even the past tense case where they do deadname Jason I don’t think is too bad, as all it’s doing is establishing the timeline.

Hopefully Jason has had a happy life since then, it would have taken a lot of courage to do what he did when he did, and he sounds like a good person to his family.
